Company Wide Awards

	Waste Management, Inc. Receives CIO-100 Award
	Waste Management, Inc. has been named a recipient of the prestigious CIO-100 Award from the International Data Group's (IDG) CIO magazine. The 2001 CIO-100 Award recognizes 100 organizations around the world that excel in positive business performance through innovative practices and products.

	Waste Management Receives DOE's Clean Cities Award for Innovation in Alternative Fuels
	Waste Management, Inc. is one of 10 organizations to receive the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities National Partner Award for its switch from diesel-fueled to liquefied natural gas-powered (LNG) refuse trucks in El Cajon, Ca. The air emission credits gained through the reductions were purchased by PG&E Corporation in order to build a much-needed power plant outside of San Diego. The project marks the first time mobile sources - such as a vehicle fleet - have been used to offset emissions from a major new stationary source.
