Covel Gardens is Good Neighbor
to San Antonio Community
Baseball leagues and other sports teams that take to the fields at
the Covel Gardens Landfill in San Antonio, Texas.
Used as one of the locations in our Think Green®
TV campaign, Covel Gardens is a great example of community partnership
in action. The buffer zones that separate neighboring areas from
the working landfill are attractively developed to provide neighborhood
families with clean and safe areas for a variety of community activities
including soccer, football and baseball. These sports fields can
be used free of charge by organized sports teams.
In March 2004, the Beautify San Antonio Association
took notice and honored Covel Gardens with a Beautification Award.
