Waste Management, Inc. Announces Vice President Corporate Communications
HOUSTON – May 19, 2005 - Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE: WMI) today named Lynn C. Brown Vice President of Corporate Communications. Brown joins the Government Affairs and Corporate Communications team headed by Barry Caldwell, Senior Vice President.

of external and internal communications and managing
successful teams at regulated, public companies will

in environmental services," said Caldwell.
Brown will be responsible for internal, external and
online communications for Waste Management.
Brown joins Waste Management from Greyhound Lines, Inc., the nation's largest provider of intercity bus transportation and one of the most-recognized brands in the world, where she served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for 5 years. Prior to joining Greyhound, Brown worked in the defense and aerospace sector for more than 18 years with Raytheon and Texas Instruments.
Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
