Waste Management Ranked a Leading Sustainable Company in the Dow Jones Sustainability and Carbon Disclosure Project Indexes

HOUSTON — September 17, 2012 – Waste Management (NYSE:WM) today announced its inclusion in the 2012 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI), ranking on the DJSI World and North America indexes as the top waste and disposal services company. In addition, Waste Management has been ranked among the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) top 10 percent of industrial companies for its efforts to reduce emissions and mitigate the risks of climate change.
