Between a rock and hard place: WM driver helps out

DEFIANCE, Mo. When WM Driver Richard McMullin was dumping a toter on his residential route, he noticed that the customer was working in his yard attempting to move a heavy rock. McMullin took the emptied toter and offered up a solution. He put the toter down and helped roll the rock into it and said, “Here you go, now you can take it anywhere you want.”

“Richie is a 14-year veteran of Waste Management and he’s always smiling, ready to work and to help someone out,” said Todd Jansen, senior district manager.

Customer Steve Kovacs also commended McMullin. “Your employee Richard McMullin went out of his way to help me while I was working in front of my house. Employees like Richard define customer service. If you have an employee of the week award, he should be a strong candidate.”
