Lifesaver: Driver provides aid to customer

Kirkland, Wash. – On December 4, Driver Hoeum Teang was servicing a route when he heard someone calling for help.
Looking for the source, he came across a 65-year-old women laying on the ground with a large gash on her head.
As it turned out, she’d been there for more than an hour after she slipped and fell while bringing her recycling container
back from the curb.

Following safety protocol, Teang immediately dialed 911 and then held a cloth to her head to slow the bleeding. He also
covered her with a blanket (it was 30 degrees outside) and stayed with the woman until help arrived. This just goes to show
that being alert not only makes the job safer, but also prepares you for how to act during an emergency.
