Tote bags made from WMPO signage

HOUSTON – One of the reasons the Waste Management Phoenix Open (WMPO) made it to the shortlist for Beyond Sports’ environmental award is the company finds creative ways to reuse materials from the tournament.

Case in point: a new line of tote bags made from banners that at one time were used to promote the event. These bags, which are limited, are now available for purchase on Waste Management’s Green Gear website (, and go for about $20 apiece (plus tax and shipping).

Use it for grocery shopping, for bringing your lunch to work, or to simply just show it off to all the neighbors. Every bag is unique, colorful and — most importantly — green!
