Electronic Waste or E-waste encompasses those electrically- or battery-powered household products and devices that are deemed to have reached the end of their useful life. Electronic Waste includes: televisions and monitors; desktop and laptop computers; peripheral devices (including keyboards, mouse/trackballs, printers, scanners and fax machines); VCR/DVD/Blu-Ray players; electronic gaming consoles, controllers and games as well as cellphones and tablets. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished or recycled. These items should never be discarded in your trash or recycling carts.
The Antelope Valley Environmental Collection Center (AVECC), located at the Antelope Valley Recycling & Disposal Facility (1200 W. City Ranch Road in Palmdale), allows local residents to dispose of electronic waste as well as household hazardous waste (HHW). The center is open to the public on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 9 am until 3 pm.
