Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste is any product labeled: toxic, poison, corrosive, flammable, combustible or irritant. These include many common hazardous waste items such as paint, batteries, oil, and pesticides. These products, if mishandled, can be dangerous to your health and the environment, and therefore should be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Also, these materials should never be discarded in a sink, storm drain or in your regular trash.

The County of Los Angeles holds Household Hazardous Waste Round-Ups throughout the year. Household Hazardous Waste can be brought to these round-ups for proper disposal at NO charge. For more information on dates, restrictions and locations, please contact the Los Angeles County Sanitation District at (800) 238-0173 or visit their website at: www.lacsd.org. You may also call the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works at (888) CLEAN-LA (1-888-253-2652) or visit their website at: www.CleanLA.com.
