We’re growing in Santa Clarita!

On November 1, 2015, Waste Management will be adding new residential customers in the City of Santa Clarita. To ensure all Santa Clarita residents receive the highest quality disposal and recycling services, we will be adjusting a portion of the routes for both current and new customers.

Current Waste Management Customers

As we adjust our service routes for new and future growth in Santa Clarita, some current customers may experience a change in their day of service. If your account is affected by this change, we will be notifying you by mail of your new service day after October 1, 2015. All other aspects of your Waste Management service will remain the same. New Waste Management Customers

Waste Management and the City of Santa Clarita are pleased to introduce your new Waste Collection and Diversion Program. You have our commitment to provide you with our very best efforts, excellent service and the smoothest transition possible. Below are some frequently asked questions regarding your new service:

How do I know if I will become a Waste Management customer?
If you reside in the communities of Soledad Commons, Copperstone, Fair Oaks Ranch, West Sand Canyon, North Copper Hill, South Sand Canyon, Elsmere Canyon or Norland Road, your home will be serviced by Waste Management starting November 1, 2015. As the City of Santa Clarita’s exclusive residential trash and recycling service provider, Waste Management will automatically transfer over residential customers with active accounts in good standing from your previous service provider. If you are still not sure if you are included in this service change, please view the attached map.

What will my new service consist of?
To start, Waste Management will provide each single-family residential customer a wheeled 96-gallon cart for trash (blue), green waste (grey) and recyclables (green). This three-cart system helps maintain a neat and tidy appearance on collection day. Residential trash, green waste, and recycling collection is provided once per week. Additional information about your Waste Management service is listed on this website under the “Residential Services” tab.

Will my service day change?
Some new residential customers may experience a change in their scheduled service day and will be notified of the change by a separate Day Change post card.

How do I get my Waste Management carts?
Your Waste Management carts will be delivered to your curbside beginning October 19th through October 31st. We do not anticipate an interruption in your service during the transition. If you do not receive your carts by November 1st, please contact Customer Service at (661) 259-2398.

What do I do with my old containers?
Your previous service provider will collect your containers beginning on October 19th through October 31st. Once you receive your new Waste Management carts, leave your old containers curbside on your regular service day and they will be removed after service.

How much is this service per month and how will I be billed?
Residential service with 96-gallon carts is $21.95 per month. Initially, your account will be billed for the months of November and December after November 1, 2015. Following this, your account will move to a regular quarterly billing cycle. To manage your account online, register after November 1, 2015 by clicking on the “My Account” tab at the top of this webpage.

How do I make changes to my service?
Residential customers can contact Customer Service (661) 259-2398 to make changes to their service after December 1, 2015.
