Many products are brought into the Household Hazardous Waste Facility and are now available in the Reuse Room at no charge. Inventory may vary.

North San Juan Transfer Station

Friday – Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Closed from 12 to 12:30 p.m.

Buyback Center - Every third Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed 12-12:30 p.m. for lunch

Acceptable Materials: Trash, commingled recyclables, used oil and oil filters, lightbulbs, batteries and tires.


Washington Transfer Station

Hours of operation:
Friday - Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Closed from 12 to 12:30 p.m.

Acceptable Materials: Trash, commingled recyclables, used oil and oil filters, lightbulbs, batteries and tires.


Holiday Schedules for Transfer Stations

All Transfer Stations are closed on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Easter
  • Independence Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day.

All Transfer Stations accept payment in cash and personal checks. McCourtney Road Transfer Station accepts credit cards except American Express. IDs are required for proof of residency. Loads must be secured per State and County covered load ordinances ($1,000 fine).
