In Colorado, WM has been part of our local communities for over 30 years employing over 1,200 Colorado residents annually. WM has 45 facilities, including recycling processing facilities, landfills, hauling offices and administrative offices throughout the state of Colorado. We provide collection, transfer, recycling and resource recovery, and disposal services all across the state.
With a strong commitment to sustainability and increased waste diversion, growing recycling is one of Waste Management’s (WM) top priorities. WM has a national goal of tripling the amount of recyclables managed from eight (8) million tons annually to over 20 million tons by 2020. By working with educators to develop and provide learning experiences for youth, WM can help to grow the next generation of recyclers while also supporting the teaching/learning of critical environmental issues/challenges. In the last three years, we have grown our education program substantially in the Four Corners Area, on average reaching over 40,000 people annually.
