Win a trip to the Waste Management Phoenix Open
Art entries due Dec. 20
HOUSTON – In 2013, more than half a million people attended the Waste Management Phoenix Open,
experiencing the sights and sounds of “the greenest show on grass.” This year, you could be one of them
by simply participating in the company’s Recycled Art Contest.
Through December 20, employees are invited to make one piece of art using recyclable items, like paper,
plastics and glass. Also, feel free to use nontraditional items to make your work of art, like metal, tile and fabric.
To submit an entry, simply take a high-quality photo, write a brief summary of the item (100 words or less) and
then email it to [email protected]. All entries will be viewed by a panel of judges from corporate
communications and marketing and a winner will be named in early January. The prize includes a trip for two to
Phoenix, Ariz. for the 2014 Waste Management Phoenix Open.
“We’re excited to get the company involved in the 2014 WMPO and to use the photos we get to promote our
#greenestshow social media campaign,” said Lisa Gordon, director of branding and advertising for Waste Management.
“We encourage everyone to be creative and show how green plays in sustainability and golf.”
The photos generated by the contest will be shared on Waste Management’s Facebook page, currently liked by more
than 35,000 fans. In addition, top selections will be distributed through the company’s internal communication channels,
including WM Monday and Visor.
Works of art to consider may include collages, sculptures and mosaics. Think outside the box and use your imagination
when it comes to materials. The more creative the better your odds of taking home the top prize. Complete rules and
guidelines are available on the Visor homepage. If you have questions, please email [email protected].
