Environmental Leader recognizes Waste
Management Phoenix Open
Project of the Year award another major accolade
Phoenix – Today, Environmental Leader, a key green business and corporate sustainability publication,
announced the Waste Management Phoenix Open as the winner of the Project of the Year Award for
its Zero Waste Challenge.
Picked among several submissions from other leading companies, judges for the award specifically
recognized that:
- The entire event — from conceptualization to execution — was a big success for “waste
management” - The effort achieved its goal of creating maximum awareness among vendors, sponsors,
spectators and PGA players - The tournament achieved 100 percent diversion
- This project demonstrated what can be achieved when you intentionally apply design to
achieve your sustainability goals
“This year’s submissions encompassed dozens of innovative products and projects from a variety of
companies,” said Jennifer Hermes, program director for Environmental Leader. “The second year of this
awards program was even more successful than last year’s, thanks in large part to the participation of
respected companies like yours.”
In honor of the award, the results of the program will be available in a Hall of Fame section on the
Environmental Leader website beginning today, March 24. In addition, a special Environmental Leader
Product & Project Awards report will published.
