Fees on Bill

Admin Fee

The admin fee covers the cost of generating your paper invoices and processing your payments. To avoid this fee, enroll in paperless billing and sign up for automatic payments, through My Account on WM.com. Before you can enroll in these bill pay services, you must first register your account with WM.com, and link your WM ezPay ID to your WM account.

Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge

The Regulatory Cost Recovery charge is a fixed percentage of 2.1% of all other invoice charges, including the fuel surcharge and environmental fee, but excluding taxes.

This charge allows Waste Management to cover a portion of our company-wide costs associated with host community feeds, waste disposal taxes and similar charges that we pay to municipal or other governmental authorities or agencies to engage in the waste collection, transfer, processing, disposal, incineration, treatment and/or recycling business.

Fuel / Environmental Charge

Waste Management is committed to controlling costs so we can continue to provide you with the best overall value in waste-related services. However, rising fuel prices and costs related to environmental compliance are things we cannot fully control. Our standard fuel/environmental charge is meant to help us cover these increased costs and achieve an acceptable operating margin. Learn more about the fuel/environmental charge.

Other Fees

Additional fees may be incurred for the following: late payment, resumed services previously suspended for non-payment, returned check.

For assistance with your bill, please contact Customer Service.
