Cart Service Reminders
- Place all waste in the appropriate container and close the lid.
- Trash, recyclables and greenwaste not placed in carts will not be collected.
- Place your carts at the curb by 6:00 am on your collection day. Emptied carts must be removed from curbside.
- Roll carts into the street and place them against the curb with the handles facing your home. Place carts at least two feet apart from other carts and objects.

Bulky Goods Collection:
Residential customers may request free bulky item pick up of household bulky items (3) times each calendar year on their regular collection day. Customers may place up to one and one-half cubic yards of bulky waste and/or E-Waste out for collection per pick up. Advance notice is required. To schedule a free bulky pick-up, please contact Waste Management at (800) 423-9986 at least 48 hours in advance of your regular service day. There will be a charge for additional items. Bulky items include: couches, washers, dryers, refrigerators, water-heaters, lawn furniture, TV’s, computer monitors, etc. Bulky wastes do not include large items such as car bodies, Construction & Demolition Waste in amounts greater than approximately one (1) cubic yard, Jacuzzi tubs or spas, Universal Waste (batteries, fluorescent tubes, oil base paint, etc.), or any other items that cannot be handled safely by two persons. In addition, tires will not be accepted. Additional bulky item collections are available at a nominal cost. Additional bulky item collections are available at a nominal cost.
Christmas Tree Recycling:
Waste Management will collect and recycle Christmas trees from December 26 for two (2) consecutive weeks at no additional charge. Trees longer than six feet must be cut in half. Please remove all tinsel, metal ornaments and metal stands from trees. Flocked trees will be collected by the trash truck and cannot be recycled.
Disposal of Used Motor Oil:
Residents may place up to five gallons of used motor oil at curbside on their regular collection day. Advance notice is required. Please contact Waste Management at (800) 423-9986 at least 24 hours in advance of your regular service day. Place motor oil in a tightly closed, clear plastic container, such as a milk or water jug. You may also contact the City of Chino at (909) 334-3427 for additional used oil and filter recycling options.
Household Hazardous Waste:
Questions regarding household hazardous waste should be directed to the City of Chino at (909) 334-3427.
Residents receive one (1) free SHARPS container per calendar year. To receive your SHARPS container please call Waste Management’s Customer Service Center at 800 423 9986 and place your order. After you complete your order our friendly Route Manager will deliver a new SHARPS container to your home address. Each container comes with a pre-paid postal approved return box. When your SHARPS container is filled, box it back up, give it to your postal service, and WM will properly recycle your used SHARPS. Don’t forget to call Waste Management to get another container. Additional containers are available with a $5.00 co-pay. Payment may be made over the telephone when you place your order with our Customer Service Department.

Mandatory COMMERCIAL RECYCLING –Businesses and Multi-Family Dwellings:
On July 1, 2012, a new law became effective in the State of California. Assembly Bill (AB) 341 requires businesses that generate at least four (4) cubic yards per week of solid waste and multi-family complexes with five (5) units or more to have a recycling program in place. One way to comply with AB341 is by adding recycling services from Waste Management to your account.
