WM has owned and operated the 142-acre Cedar Ridge Landfill facility for nearly 30 years, providing customers with safe and responsible disposal solutions.
We accept non-hazardous, municipal solid waste and construction and demolition material. We have regular monitoring, and are permitted through the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC).
To provide additional capacity, we are proposing to add 90 acres of land that WM already owns to existing landfill operations. This would extend the life of the landfill for an estimated 20+ years and provide responsible disposal options while recycling and diversion infrastructure grows.
We locally employ 70 staff members, including drivers, mechanics, operators, administrative and operational leaders.
Our team members are actively involved in the community with various organizations including the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, Lewisburg Rotary, Chapel Hill Lions Club, Leadership Marshall, Friends of Henry Horton State Park, Marshall County Schools, Tennessee Environmental Council, and many other educational and outreach events.
We are committed to supporting Marshall County students and schools. We've made over $100,000 in donations to Marshall Co. schools and contributed $15,000 in scholarships annually to local high school seniors ($150,000 over the last 10 years).
Additionally, we are proud to contribute $5,000 annually to the Marshall County Child Development Center ($50,000 over the last 10 years).
Cedar Ridge also has a significant local financial impact. WM pays Marshall County about $1 million per year in host fees ($5.4 million since 2020) and provides free disposal services for Marshall Co., a savings valued at $600,000 per year.
