Kettleman City Swimming Pool Open

Kettleman City, CA, June 16, 2011-  Kettleman City residents enjoyed the first day of the swimming pool season this past Saturday.  Youth took advantage of the warm weather and eagerly stood in line for doors to open.

WM Kettleman Hills Facility, Paramount Farms and Reef-Sunset Unified School District have worked together for the past five years to make sure Kettleman City keeps their pool season open.

The pool not only creates a fun and safe place to go swimming but also creates summer jobs.

WM Kettleman Hills Facility will be presenting a $5,000 check at the Reef-Sunset school board meeting on June 16 at 7pm. The pool season opened to the community June 11 and closes September 5.

Pool hours are Monday thru Thursday from 12pm-7pm, Saturday from 11am-7pm and Sunday from 12pm-5pm.

WM’s (WM) Kettleman Hills Facility has been an integral part of the Kings County community for 30 years. The facility is permitted to handle municipal solid waste and hazardous waste, both of which are heavily regulated, monitored and controlled by more than 10 local, state and federal government agencies. The facility’s staff includes 60 full-time employees, many of whom are active in the community. In addition to its community contributions and significant volunteer efforts, WM provides a benefit to the local economy of more than $17 million annually with a $3.7 million annual payroll. WM also contributes nearly $3 million per year directly to the Kings County General Fund through disposal fees. For more information, visit our website at www.kettlemanhillsfacts.com.
