Kettleman City, CA, February 9, 2010 — WM issued the following statement from Helen Herrera, community relations manager for the Kettleman Hills Facility, regarding today’s California Department of Pubic Health findings:
“WM appreciates that the state Department of Public Health is reaching out to keep elected officials and Kings County residents apprised of the facts in this situation.
Our Kettleman Hills Facility is safe and we are proud of our 30 year legacy of safety and environmental stewardship. We are committed to protection of human health and the environment through compliance with state, local and federal regulations.
