The Ecopark is a partnership between Monroe County and WM that provides county residents with a recycling facility where they can drop off their difficult-to-manage items like: electronics, appliances, compost, paper and cardboard, printer cartridges, propane tanks, bulky plastic items, cooking oil/grease, fluorescent lights, sharps and syringes, sneakers, clothing and scrap metal.
The website provides a list of accepted items, hours of operation and alternative disposal options for items not accepted at the facility.
Special collections are also available for pharmaceutical and medication diversion as well as household hazardous wastes. Since the facility opened in 2011, we have recovered and/or diverted more than 10 million pounds of materials from landfills and waterways. We are extremely proud of the Ecopark and its impact on the community and the environment and we are equally as proud of our partnership with Monroe County.
