Scout Day at High Acres Landfill

On Columbus Day at High Acres Landfill and Recycling Center, the team at High Acres along with Environmental Educators from the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services, hosted over 80 local scouts to come tour the site and learn about modern landfills and the importance of recycling. Key highlights of this exciting and educational event include, a landfill bus tour, the latest updates on Recycling Right and meeting  Norma Jene and her Falcons, which High Acres uses to deter gulls from the site and surrounding community. This event counts towards scouts environmental stewardship achievements.
