Positively impact 10 million people in our communities through targeted social impact programs by 2030, using the equivalent of 2% of our net income.

Investing in Tomorrow
We're executing on investments in recycling and renewable energy infrastructure to help drive the circular economy.
Investing in Recycling
WM has been executing on investments in new recycling facilities or automation upgrades from 2022 through 2027 to expand recycling access to new customers and increase the quality and quantity of materials we process. Upgrades typically leverage technologies, such as optical sorters, light and air jets and AI, to increase sorting efficiency, reduce contamination and help create a safer work environment.
Investing in Renewable Energy
WM is reimagining the role of waste in the energy transition by investing in infrastructure that captures landfill gas and converts it into energy. These investments help to turn emissions-related challenges into meaningful decarbonization solutions for our customers or own alternative fuel fleet.
