WM provides an essential service to our customers and the community, and we remain focused on prioritizing essential collection and disposal services.

Effective for residential customers serviced by Waste Management in the following areas: Shawnee, Lenexa, and Overland Park:

Beginning the week of September 7, 2020,  Waste Management will resume normal yard waste collection. Waste Management, similar to other businesses, has experienced impacts to their operation from the pandemic.

No change in preparation of the yard waste materials is needed by the residents. Residents should still place yard waste material and debris in a biodegradable bags with a maximum weight of 50 pounds,  for collection at the curb. Up to 10 bags of yard waste will be accepted from each household.

Limbs and twigs should be bundled, tied with twine, to allow easy handling by our drivers. Bundles must be no longer than 4ft. (48 inches) in legnth and 18 inches in diameter.  Logs/firewood, railroad ties, landscape timbers, and any type of treated wood or construction/remodelings debris, etc. are not accepted yard waste materials.

Please note that September 7th is Labor Day and we will be running one- day delayed all week due to the holiday.

 

Effective for residential customers serviced by Waste Management in the following counties: Johnson, Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Miami, Linn and Franklin Kansas

Beginning the week of 06/22/2020, residential collection will begin at 6 a.m for June, July, and August due to the extreme heat forcasted in the upcoming weeks.
The safety of our employees is one of our top priorities. The current 30-day outlook for Kansas City metro area reflects periods with temperatures greater than 90 degrees. We ask that residents place their trash and recycling carts at the curb by 6 a.m.

Unless your service is listed in service suspension or delays listed above, please follow our standard service guidelines, ensure your containers are available on your regular collection day and continue to recycle right.
