DownloadTrash, Recycling & Organic Waste Pickup
At WM, we're proud to take care of our Albany neighbors — and our planet — with residential trash pickup, organics and recycling services.

If a holiday falls on a weekday, collections for the rest of the week will be pushed back a day. For a Thursday holiday, service would be on Friday, and Friday service would be Saturday. For holidays on Saturday or Sunday, there are no delays.
Collection holidays are New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
UPCOMING SERVICE
Curbside textile collection is back in October for single- and multi-family customers. See collection dates and learn how to prepare your items for pickup.

TEXTILE COLLECTION
• Residents should place textiles in plastic bags no larger than 35 gallons.
• Set the bags near blue recycling containers by 7 AM – but do not block truck access to the containers. Do not put on top of the containers.
• Be sure to label the bags clearly as “WM textiles”.
• Bags should be securely tied to keep out dirt and moisture.
• Bags may be collected as late as 6 pm on the collection day.

Review local residential trash & recycling guidance before your next pickup or service request.
Service & Collection Information
WM provides a 96, 64 or 32 gallon cart for weekly trash collection. Rates vary based on cart size selected. To view your specific service day, please click here, enter your address and select "Verify.”
Container Setout Instructions
Place container on the street with wheels against the curb before 7 a.m. on collection days and remove same day. Keep container at least three (3) feet from parked cars, mailboxes, and other obstacles that may prevent WM team members from picking it up.
How to Prepare Your Materials
All trash should be bagged. Do not overfill your container – the lid must close tightly. Overflow and materials outside may be subject to additional charge or will not be collected.
What Belongs in Your Container
As of January 1, 2022, SB 1383 requires Californians to sort and separately collect food scraps, yard debris, and food-soiled paper from trash and recycling. This means food scraps are no longer acceptable in your trash container. For more information on SB 1383, visit wm.com/SB1383
Acceptable items include standard household trash like chip bags, plastic bags, and textiles (donate if lightly used).
Non-acceptable items include construction waste, auto parts, tires, household hazardous waste (paint, oil, household cleaners), medical or electronic waste, and food scraps.
