AB 341
Beginning July 1, 2012, the adoption of legislation AB 341, which is designed to help meet California’s recycling goal of 75% by the year 2020 will take effect. This law requires California commercial enterprises and public entities that generate four or more cubic yards per week of waste, and multi-family housing complexes with five or more units, to adopt recycling practices.

AB 1826
Covered Businesses Must Have Compost Collection Service as of April 1, 2016. As part of California’s recycling and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission goals, businesses will be required by State law (AB 1826) to collect yard trimmings, food scraps and food-soiled paper for composting, effective April 1, 2016. These compostable materials account for nearly one-third of the approximately 30 million tons of waste destined for California’s landfills each year. Click here for more information.

SPECIAL GARBAGE BIN CHARGES
Pull/Push fees only apply to garbage bin collection NOT recycling. The fee is charged when the driver must pull or push a bin out of an enclosure for collection and is calculated based on the distance the bin is moved. Refer to rate information above for fees.

You can elect to stage your garbage bin in an accessible location so the pull/push fee isn’t imposed. We are happy to meet with you at your business to help identify a location that works for everyone.

Other ways to lower your garbage bill include reducing the frequency of service by using a larger bin with fewer service days or reevaluating what you are throwing away to insure no recyclables are in your trash.

To sign up for recycling service or increase your recycling service, please call 925-837-3356.
