Unlike a seasonal or vacation hold, which is a temporary pause of service done by request, an account can become inactive or cancelled due to an unpaid invoice or outstanding balance. If your account is cancelled or inactive due to an unpaid invoice or outstanding balance, you can follow the steps below to restore your service.

Pay Your Outstanding Balance

If you believe your WM account is inactive due to nonpayment:

  1. Visit wm.com.

  2. Click Make a Payment near the top of the page.

  3. Pay your balance using either Continue as Guest or Log In.

What to expect after payment

  • If your service is suspended, your account will be resumed within 3 business days.

  • Service will restart on your next scheduled collection day.

  • An auto-resume charge may apply.

  • If you were previously enrolled in AutoPay, you will need to re-enroll after payment.

If Your Account Is Cancelled/Written Off

You may still be able to make a payment online even if your account has been written off, though access may sometime be limited. Here are the recommended steps:

  1. Pay your full past-due balance, if possible

  2. After payment is submitted, select Request Help to connect with a WM account expert.

  3. A reactivation fee may apply.

  4. If you were enrolled in AutoPay, you will need to re-enroll after your account is fully restored.

If Your Account Has Been Sent to Collections/You Cannot Pay Online

If you have received notice from a third-party debt collector about your account and you’re unable to log in, use the "Request Help" button below to begin the reinstatement process with a WM account expert.
