Waste Management’s Battery Recycling Kits enable businesses to collect and store batteries in a single, safe location and send the container back when it is full.
Additionally, participating in our battery-recycling program can help you meet LEED® certification standards and provide you with the Recycling Certificates needed to verify that your business has complied with local, state and federal regulations.
How It Works:
Order the recycling kit online, fill the container, and ship it back. Once we have received the filled kit, we will email your Recycling Certificate that certifies compliance with federal and state universal waste regulations. The Recycling Certificate and related records will be available from your online account. Choose from the following kits:
Alkaline and Nickel Battery Recycling Kit
The Alkaline & Nickel Battery Recycling Kit provides a simple, convenient solution for dry-cell batteries that power small electronics used by businesses every day.
Acceptable Materials: Alkaline (AAA, AA, C, D 9 volt & lantern), Carbon Zinc, NiCd NiMH, Silver Oxide, Mercury atteries
Unacceptable Materials: Lithium, Lithium Ion, Lead Acid, damaged or leaking batteries
Lead Acid Disposal Container
The Lead Acid Battery Recycling Container is perfect for collecting small, sealed non-spill batteries such as uninterruptable power supply and exit signs batteries.
Unacceptable Materials: Lithium, Lithium Ion, NiCd, NiMh, Silver Oxide, Mercury, damaged or leaking batteries

Waste Management’s Medical Waste Disposal Containers provide medical professionals with an easy, affordable and safe solution for regulated medical waste disposal.
How it Works:
Order the recycling kit online, fill the box and ship it back. The Medical Waste Disposal Kits include government approved containers and a pre-paid mailing box to ship the contents to Waste Management Healthcare Solutions (WMHS) facilities for treatment and destruction. When the box is returned and we have disposed of the materials, we will provide you with a Certificate of Destruction online so you can easily keep track of your records.
