OVERVIEW: The WM x MLB “Recycling is Real” Challenge sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) offers an opportunity to win a trip to the WM Phoenix Open in February 2027 and the MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard currently scheduled to take place in July 2027. The Sweepstakes is separate from any other similar offer WM may conduct at or around the same time and offering any similar prize(s). Entry into this Sweepstakes does not constitute entry into any other promotion, and vice versa. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, territory, provincial, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
1. SPONSOR
The Sweepstakes is sponsored by Waste Management National Services, Inc., a Delaware corporation, located at 800 Capitol Street, Suite 300, Houston, TX 77002 (“Sponsor”).
2. AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES
By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrants (as defined below) agree to be bound by these Official Rules (“Official Rules”) and the decisions of the Sweepstakes judges, which decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
3. SWEEPSTAKES DATES
The Sweepstakes begins on July 1, 2026, at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on December 11, 2026, at 11:59:59 PM ET (the “Sweepstakes Period”). The Sweepstakes is subject to these Official Rules. Sponsor’s servers are the official time-keeping device for the Sweepstakes.
4. WHO CAN ENTER
The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including the District of Columbia), who are twenty-one (21) years of age or older at the time they enter the Sweepstakes. The following persons are not eligible to participate: employees, agents, and representatives of Sponsor, the MLB Entities (as defined below), and any of their respective subsidiaries, affiliated companies, parent corporations, advertising or promotion agencies, sponsors, and suppliers of materials, prizes, and services related to the Sweepstakes, or any other person directly associated with the organization of the Sweepstakes; members of the immediate families (defined as father, mother, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and spouse, whether legal or common law) of any of the foregoing persons; and any persons residing in the same household as any of the foregoing persons. “MLB Entities” means the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball (“BOC”), its Bureaus, Committees, Subcommittees, and Councils, MLB Advanced Media, L.P. (“MLB”), Major League Baseball Properties, Inc., The MLB Network, LLC, the Major League Baseball Clubs (“Clubs”), each of their parent, subsidiary, affiliated, and related entities, any entity which, now or in the future, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with the Clubs or the BOC, and the owners, general and limited partners, shareholders, directors, officers, employees, and agents of the foregoing entities.
5. HOW TO ENTER

to complete the free WM x MLB Recycling is Real Challenge game, which takes a few minutes, then complete the entry form by entering all required information and clicking SUBMIT. Limit: one (1) entry per person. Any attempt to enter multiple times by use of different names, addresses, email addresses, or any other means is grounds for disqualification. No sharing of email addresses is permitted. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for failed communications due to any change of contact information after submitting an entry. Entries submitted by script, macro, bot, computerized or other automated or mechanical means, or entries that are not in compliance with or otherwise subvert the entry process, are void. Each person submitting a valid entry is deemed an “Entrant.” By entering this Sweepstakes, you represent that you have read and agree to these Official Rules.
6. PRIZES
One (1) Grand Prize is available, including both the following trips:
One (1) VIP trip to the 2027 WM Phoenix Open for two (2) persons, consisting of: (A) round-trip economy air transportation between the major commercial airport nearest Winner’s home and Phoenix, Arizona for Winner and one (1) guest; (B) two (2) VIP Hospitality Tickets for Winner and guest for each day from Friday, February 12 through Sunday, February 14, 2027; (C) two (2) Bird’s Nest Concert Tickets for Winner and guest for Saturday, February 13, 2027; and (D) one (1) room at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Scottsdale Resort for two (2) nights (Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13, 2027), all subject to the conditions described in Section 7. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $2,500.

One (1) VIP trip to the 2027 MLB All-Star Game in Chicago, Illinois for Winner and one (1) guest, consisting of: (A) round-trip economy air transportation between the major commercial airport nearest Winner’s home and Chicago, Illinois for Winner and guest; (B) two (2) tickets for Winner and guest to the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14, 2027, and the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15, 2027; and (C) one (1) hotel room at a Chicago-area hotel as designated by Sponsor in its sole discretion for two (2) nights (Monday and Tuesday, July 14 and 15, 2027). ARV: $2,000.
Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received.
7. CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO PRIZE
Each Prize trip is subject to the following conditions, as applicable:
- Unless explicitly included in the Prize description above, all costs, charges, or expenses, including without limitation ground transportation to and from airports, all other traveling expenses, spending money, all taxes (including federal, state, and local income taxes, airport taxes, hospitality taxes, and any other applicable taxes), insurance, fuel surcharges, travel-related fees, items of a personal nature, travel documents (including passports and visas if applicable), meals and beverages, internet access charges, bar and wine charges, souvenirs, room service, gratuities, and local and long-distance telephone calls, are the sole responsibility of the Winner (as defined below) and the Winner’s guest.
- No compensation will be awarded to the Winner or the Winner’s guest if the actual value of the traveling expenses is less than the approximate retail value stated herein. If Winner resides within three hundred (300) miles of Phoenix, Arizona or Chicago, Illinois (as applicable), Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, substitute ground transportation in lieu of air transportation.
- If the Prize or any part of the Prize is not used, no compensation will be awarded to the Winner or the Winner’s guest.
- The Prize may be accepted by the Winner in whole or in part. If the Winner accepts only part of the Prize, Sponsor shall have no obligation other than to provide to Winner such accepted part of the Prize. Winner shall not be entitled to claim any part of the Prize that the Winner has refused, and Sponsor shall be released of any obligations pertaining to such refused part of the Prize.
- All accepted parts of the Prize must be used by the Winner during the same trip;
- Entrants are advised that tax implications may arise from winning the Prize, and Entrants should seek independent financial or tax advice prior to acceptance of the Prize. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of Winner. Winner must cooperate with Sponsor to complete all applicable federal, state, and local documentation pertaining to taxation, including IRS Form W-9 or other applicable tax forms.
- No prize substitution or cash redemption is permitted by Winner. The Prize is non-transferable and non-assignable. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of comparable or greater value if any advertised prize (or any portion thereof) becomes unavailable for any reason.
- All dates specified in these Official Rules are subject to change. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for cancellation or postponement of any events beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control. If any prize-related activities are cancelled or postponed after travel is booked, the remaining elements of the Prize will be awarded as the complete Prize, and no additional compensation will be provided.
For MLB Tickets: Use of any Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition ticket is subject to the standard terms, conditions, and health and safety policies applicable to the ticket; see mlb.com/ticketback for details. Seat locations at the game/event/exhibition and, unless otherwise stated in the prize description, exact game/event/exhibition date shall be determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor. Winner’s guest(s) must be of legal age of majority in his/her(their) jurisdiction(s) of residence unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition dates and times are determined in the sole discretion of the BOC and/or the applicable Club and may be subject to change. The terms and conditions of the tickets awarded as part of the prize will govern in the event a legal game/event/exhibition, as defined by Major League Baseball, is not played or held due to weather conditions, an act of God, an act of terrorism, civil disturbance, or any other reason. Winner and his/her guest(s) agree to comply with all applicable ballpark and venue regulations in connection with the prize. Sponsor and the MLB Entities reserve the right to remove or to deny entry to the winner and/or his/her guest(s) who engage in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person at the game/event/exhibition. Released Parties (as defined below) will not be responsible for weather conditions; acts of God; acts of terrorism; civil disturbances; local, state, or federal regulation, order, or policy; work stoppage; epidemic, pandemic, or any other issue concerning public health or safety; or any other event outside of their control that may cause the cancellation or postponement of any Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition. Major League Baseball game/event/exhibition tickets awarded as prizes may not be resold, offered for resale, or used for any commercial or promotional purpose whatsoever. Any such resale or commercial or promotional use may result in disqualification and prize forfeiture, and may invalidate the license granted by the game/event/exhibition ticket.
8. WINNER SELECTION
The potential winner will be selected at random, on or about December 15, 2026, from among all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. The potential winner will be notified by phone and/or email, using the contact information supplied at the time of entry. In the event the potential winner fails to respond within five (5) business days of the initial contact attempt, or is otherwise found to be ineligible, or declines the Prize, the potential winner will be disqualified and the Prize may be awarded to an alternate winner selected in the same manner.
9. WINNER VALIDATION
In order to be declared a (“Winner”), an Entrant selected pursuant to Section 8 above must meet the following conditions:
- Compliance with these Official Rules and conditions for eligibility;
- Complete and return to Sponsor, within three (3) business days of receipt, an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, and publicity release (collectively, the “Winner’s Declaration Form”), in which the selected Entrant: (A) confirms compliance with these Official Rules and eligibility requirements; (B) releases Sponsor, the MLB Entities, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliated companies, parent corporations, employees, agents, representatives, administrators, officers, advertising or promotion agencies, sponsors, and suppliers of materials, prizes, and services related to the Sweepstakes, and any other person directly associated with the Sweepstakes, from all liability arising from or relating to the Sweepstakes and the Prize; and (C) except where prohibited by law, authorizes Sponsor and its representatives and designees (including the MLB Entities) to use the selected Entrant’s name, photograph, likeness, biographical information, statements concerning the Prize, and city and state of residence, without additional compensation, in any publicity or promotional materials related to the Sweepstakes or future promotion.
- Each guest accompanying the Winner must sign a declaration form substantially similar to the Winner’s Declaration Form. If any guest has not reached the age of majority in the jurisdiction of such guest’s residence, such guest’s parent or legal guardian must sign the declaration form on the guest’s behalf.
Failure of the selected Entrant to satisfy any of the foregoing conditions within the specified time periods may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the Prize. In such event, Sponsor shall have the right to select an alternate Entrant as described in these Official Rules and award the Prize to such alternate winner, time permitting.
10. RELEASES, LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMERS
BY ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANTS AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND AGREE TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR, THE MLB ENTITIES, AND THEIR respective Employees, agents and representatives, ITS subsidiaries, ITS affiliated companies, ITS controlling corporations, advertising or promotion agencies, co-sponsors, suppliers of materials, prizes and services related to the Sweepstakes, or any other person directly associated with the holding of the Sweepstakes (“RELEASED PARTIES”) FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND THAT RESULT FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE, OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE; OR FROM ENTRY OR ATTEMPTED ENTRY INTO THE SWEEPSTAKES. THE RELEASED PARTIES ASSUME NO LIABILITY FOR LOST OR MISDIRECTED ENTRIES, WHETHER DUE TO TECHNICAL FAILURES, COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONS, HUMAN ERROR, OR ANY OTHER CAUSE. SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT, AT ITS SOLE DISCRETION, TO CANCEL, TERMINATE, MODIFY, OR SUSPEND THE SWEEPSTAKES IN WHOLE OR IN PART IF THE WEBSITE OR SWEEPSTAKES IS COMPROMISED BY VIRUS, SOFTWARE BUG, UNAUTHORIZED HUMAN INTERVENTION, OR ANY OTHER CAUSE THAT CORRUPTS OR IMPAIRS THE ADMINISTRATION, SECURITY, FAIRNESS, OR PROPER OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES, AS DETERMINED BY SPONSOR IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION. IF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS CANCELLED FOR ANY REASON, THE WINNER WILL BE SELECTED BY RANDOM DRAWING FROM AMONG ALL ELIGIBLE ENTRIES RECEIVED PRIOR TO CANCELLATION. THE RELEASED PARTIES MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE PRIZE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW. SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR SUCH ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11. PERSONAL INFORMATION RETENTION RULES FOR SWEEPSTAKES
Personal information submitted in connection with the Sweepstakes will be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.wm.com/us/en/privacy. By entering the Sweepstakes, Entrants consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information as described in the Privacy Policy and these Official Rules. Sponsor will retain personal information only for as long as necessary to administer the Sweepstakes and comply with applicable legal and tax requirements.https://www.wm.com/us/en/privacy
12. PUBLICITY RELEASE
By participating in the Sweepstakes, the Winner grants to Sponsor, and its representatives, affiliates, successors, assigns, and licensees (including the MLB Entities), the perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to record, film, videotape, photograph, and otherwise capture the Winner’s name, likeness, image, voice, biographical information, statements, and other attributes (collectively, the “Images”). Sponsor shall own all right, title, and interest in and to such Images. Sponsor and its designees shall have the right to use, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, edit, adapt, stream, and otherwise exploit such Images, and all elements embodied therein, including any names, likenesses, address, voice, conversation, biographical and Prize information and any other attributes of Winner, individually or with others, in whole or in part, in conjunction with other material, if any, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, for the purpose of trade, advertising, publicity, promotion, or a Sweepstakes Winner List or any other lawful purpose whatsoever, in perpetuity, throughout the world, without additional compensation, consideration, notification or permission, except where prohibited by law.
13. WINNER LIST
For the name of the Winner (available after approximately January 31, 2027), send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your written request to: WM “Recycling is Real” Challenge Winner List, 800 Capitol Street, Suite 300, Houston, TX 77002. Requests must be received by February 28, 2027.
14. DISPUTES
Except where prohibited by law, each Entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any Prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, mass action, or representative proceeding; (ii) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual, documented out-of-pocket costs incurred, including reasonable costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event shall include attorneys’ fees, expert fees, or other professional fees; (iii) Entrant waives all rights to claim or seek indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or multiple damages of any kind; and (iv) any claim or cause of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred.
Each Entrant must be the rightful owner or have authorized use of the email account or mobile telephone account associated with the Entrant’s submitted email address and/or mobile telephone number (if provided). If a dispute arises about who submitted an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email account or mobile telephone account provided, as applicable. The “authorized account holder” is deemed the natural person who is (i) assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, service provider, or other online organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address; or (ii) assigned to a mobile telephone number by a wireless carrier or other entity responsible for assigning that mobile telephone number. A potential winner may be requested to provide the Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder associated with a winning entry and that all eligibility requirements are met.
15. GOVERNING LAW
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Texas or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Texas. By entering (or participating in any Sweepstakes-related activity), Entrants (and others) agree that all proceedings shall exclusively take place in the state or federal courts located in Houston, Texas.
