If the regular collection day for trash, yard waste, or bulk falls on a holiday, the waste will be collected on the next regularly scheduled collection day in Area A and the next business day in Area B.

Walton County has partnered with WM to provide residential waste service that sets the standard for sustainable trash and bulk item disposal.

Service Guides & Instructions
Residents are provided one free, gray 96 gallon cart and may contact WM to purchase additional carts.
- Smaller sized carts are available for purchase from WM.
- Existing green WM carts can be used for a second, free service.
- The gray carts are property of Walton County.
- Area A (South Walton, Freeport, Villa Tasso, Choctaw Beach) receive twice-per-week trash, once-per-week yard waste and once-per-month bulk service.
- Area B (North Walton, Paxton, Steelfield Bunker) receive once-per-week trash, once-per-week yard waste and once-per-month bulk service.
Place carts at the curb by 5 a.m. on collection days. Keep at least four feet from parked cars, mailboxes and other obstacles that may prevent WM team members from picking it up. Please remove all carts from the curb as soon as possible after collection.
All trash must be inside the cart with the cart lid closed. Trash outside the cart will not be collected.
- Acceptable items include standard household trash like food waste, chip bags, paper towels, plastic bags, and textiles (donate if lightly used).
- Non-acceptable items include construction waste, auto parts, tires, household hazardous waste (paint, oil, household cleaners), medical or electronic waste.
If your container was curbside by the specified time and not emptied, click here to report a missed pickup via the link that will appear under the "Next Pickup” section after 6 p.m. on your service day and will remain for 72 hours. Missed pickups cannot be scheduled if your container was not out or was blocked at the time of service.
If you do not see the "Report Missed Pickup for Prior Service” link, that means you are not eligible or are outside the specified time.
