How to Avoid Paymentus Fees

WM is introducing new payment methods for invoices. In addition to electronic debit from a bank account, like the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network in the U.S. or Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) in Canada, and credit or debit card, soon you'll be able to pay with services like Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

Paymentus will charge a $2.75 CAD convenience fee per transaction for residential service and a $13.75 CAD convenience fee for non-residential service, as applicable, for payments made online or by phone using credit card, debit card and digital wallet methods. You'll get an alert for the fee when you pay online or by phone.

One-time or automatic payments made by direct debit from a bank account will not incur a convenience fee. If you currently pay by credit or debit card and want to avoid the Paymentus convenience fee, log in to My WM to update your payment method to direct debit from a bank account.

New Payment Methods Available for AutoPay

If you're enrolled in AutoPay, your current payment method will transfer to the new payment system. Starting in August, you'll be able to select digital wallet services such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal; please note that the Paymentus convenience fee will apply. Convenience Fees May Apply

Payments made online or by phone by direct debit from a bank account will not be subject to a convenience fee, but Paymentus, the payment system provider, will charge a convenience fee for payments made by credit or debit card and digital wallet services such as Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.

The convenience fee will be a flat charge of $2.75 CAD per payment for residential service customers and $13.75 CAD per payment for non-residential service customers. The convenience fee is subject to change. By contract or under state or provincial law restrictions, some customers may pay a nonstandard convenience fee or be exempt from paying any convenience fee.
