Ensure pickup can be completed

There is a chance we were unable to complete your service. Please make sure:

  1. Nothing is obstructing access to your container.

  2. There are no items protruding from the container that prevent it from closing.

  3. All gates or locks protecting your container are open and unlocked.

  4. Your container is outside the night before pickup.

  5. There are no unacceptable or hazardous materials in your container.

Check the time

Please allow until 6 p.m. local time for pickup to occur; we might still be on the way!

View service alerts for your waste pickup

Sometimes, unforeseen circumstances like traffic, weather or truck repairs may delay your order. If this happens, you should receive an alert. To view alerts:

  1. Click Schedule & ETA in the upper-right section of the screen.

  2. Log in or enter your address to view alerts or service interruptions.

Customers logged in to My WM can update their communication preferences to receive text or email alerts.

Report a missed pickup for your home or business (Logged in to My WM)

To view available photos/videos of the attempted pickup, check under "Details" on your service card in My WM.

  1. Log in to My WM. If you have more than one account, select the correct account in the "Accounts" overview

  2. From your dashboard, navigate to the corresponding service card and click Details to view any available photos or videos of your attempted pickup.

  3. If you are eligible to report a missed pickup online, click Missed Pickup and follow the steps to schedule a new pickup.

Missed pickups can only be reported for successful service attempts and within 3 days of the pickup.

Report a missed collection for your home (Not signed in to My WM)

  1. Click Schedule & ETA.

  2. Enter your address and click Verify to check your eligibility.

  3. Under the “Next Pickup” section, select the appropriate waste stream if there are multiple options. Click Report Missed Pickup for Prior Service.

  4. If you are eligible to report a missed pickup online, follow the steps to submit.

If you are unable to report a missed pickup

In some cases, the Missed Pickup button/link will not appear, and you may be unable to report a missed pickup. This can occur when:

  • Your container was not at the curb.

  • Inclement weather/unsafe road conditions prevented us from making a pickup.

  • Your container was blocked.

  • The scheduled service date was more than 3 days ago.

If these reasons don’t apply to you and you’re still unable to report a missed pickup, please contact us via Live Chat by clicking the Request Help button below. Our agents are available to assist you and ensure your issue is resolved.

For business customers who are unable to report a missed pickup, you can request an extra pickup or wait for the next pickup.

Monetary credits are generally not provided for missed or delayed pickups caused by weather, as long as the pickup is completed as soon as conditions allow, including on the next scheduled service day.
